The Controller plays a crucial role within GlideFast, overseeing all financial operations and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our financial activities.  As the Controller, you will provide strategic financial guidance, manage financial reporting, and contribute to the overall financial success of the business.  This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to navigate financial regulation and best practices.  

 

What is the role?

The Controller plays a crucial role within GlideFast, overseeing all financial operations and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our financial activities.  As the Controller, you will provide strategic financial guidance, manage financial reporting, and contribute to the overall financial success of the business.  This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to navigate financial regulation and best practices.  


● Oversee the invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to billing schedules
● Coordinate with various teams on monthly billing; preparing invoices and ensuring accurate and timely billing to clients or customers
● Monitor accounts receivable and coordinate with customers to resolve billing issues as needed
● Supervise day to day accounting activities including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll
● Oversee all aspects of the payroll process; manage accurate and timely payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, maintaining payroll records, and resolving any  payroll issues
● Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
● Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards
● Coordinate and oversee annual financial audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
● Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax planning and filing activities
● Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide management with accurate and timely financial information
● Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure compliance with banking covenants
● Conduct variance analysis to evaluate financial performance against budget and targets
● Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
● Develop and implement financial forecasting and budgeting processes
● Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision making
● Prepare regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
● Collaborate with the sales team to design and implement commission structures
● Calculate and process sales commission payments accurately and in a timely manner
● Maintain documentation and records related to sales commissions

 

 

What experience do you need for success?


● Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role in a professional services company
● Previous experience working in Public Accounting, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role
● Prior experience in Staff Accounting, handling day-to-day accounting tasks such as accounts payable and receivable and general ledger maintenance
● Strong knowledge of financial forecasting, budgeting and reporting
● In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices
● Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data
● Proficient in financial software applications
● Familiarity with working in a corporate structure as a subsidiary or fully owned entity of a public traded company

● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
